This Is How We Do It

Image
This is freaking fantastic and something I’d probably do. I love you regardless of how you identify, but nobody is going to force my girls to change in front of someone that is biologically a male. If the child doesn’t feel comfortable changing in front of the boys - that’s fine and they should be given a safe space to change, but it’s not going to be anywhere near my girls. In California right now girls are being forced to sign a mental health disorder acknowledgment form if they refuse to change in front of a biological male. Excuse the F out of me… A WHAT?!?!?!? We’ve lost our dang minds.

Everyone's An Expert Now (Charlie Kirk)

Image
It’s fascinating to me how many people didn’t even know who Charlie Kirk was before he was shot and suddenly now they just know everything there is to know about him and are on a crusade to demonize him? Huh….

Charlie Kirk & Guns

Image
Guns/2nd Amendment: This comes from sarahgracemeck on Threads. I honestly don’t know who she is, but she’s pointing out the importance of context. We should all know better than to take anything at face value anymore. People even quote the Bible out of context for their own gains. You need to get the full picture. I’m not saying Charlie Kirk has never done or said anything wrong, or even what side I’m on for this topic. I’m just pointing out that the one-liners I’m hearing often don’t mean what many think they mean, and that’s frustrating. If I’m making you mad and you’re not open to a conversation - feel free to just scroll on by, unfollow, unfriend, or even block if you feel the need. I’m sharing my own personal thoughts on my own personal page. It’s not an invitation to spar with me. Charlie Kirk let countless people yell at him and spit on him and even threaten him, and didn’t budge. I’m just personally not in the mood. (posted to Facebook)

What Is A Martyr? (Charlie Kirk)

Image
Martyr… Definition = A person who is killed for their beliefs… Note: Does not imply sainthood or godlike qualities. This is a dictionary definition. Don’t react based on connotation when I’m expressing denotation. Semantics are rough. Take it up with Webster.

Charlie Kirk & Empathy

Image
Next on the docket for my open, curious-minded friends: The issue of Charlie Kirk rejecting “empathy.” I don’t even have to hear the entire explanation to discern exactly what he’s talking about here. He’s not saying the act of empathy (putting yourself in someone else’s shoes) is wrong/bad. He’s saying that today that word has actually been weaponized in order to entrap Christians by saying, unless you accept whatever we do is fine, AND support us in those decisions (“empathy”), you’re not actually a Christian. Many are also saying that if you DON’T agree with our choices and support us, and we kill ourselves based on that, it’s your fault. Example: Abortion. No, I'm not going to debate you on this topic because you don’t care what anyone else thinks about it, but with this issue, there are many that would say Christians aren’t expressing “empathy” to those who would choose to have an abortion (not in reference to medical emergencies - don’t cherry-pick). I think we could agree t...

Charlie Kirk & DEI

Image
So this is an example of taking things out of context. This is 2 intelligent men having an open conversation/debate. They are being respectful and actually listening to each other - even if they don’t agree 100% of the time. I’ve heard people say that Charlie Kirk was a racist and has made racial slurs. One example/proof in particular was his statement regarding black pilots. Taken out of context, you’d perhaps hear that he’s being a racist. “Well, he’s saying black people can't be pilots!” If you actually listen to the full conversation and his view of DEI, though, he’s saying that he doesn’t want someone to be a pilot based on their color or gender. He would like the most qualified person to have the role, regardless of those factors. That’s it. I’m not saying which person I agree with or about what specific statements, but I will say I am an adult capable of listening to both sides of a conversation and can make my own decisions. If your intent on commenting on something I post ...

How To Pray

Image
I'm not Catholic, but that doesn't make this any less relevant. I used to teach this to our kids and am realizing we need to revisit it. It's so easy to just think of yourself when you pray, but we really need to learn how to look outward and cover others as well. We may never know how important this is... I Lost A Brother Today (Charlie Kirk)

Image
I'm no expert. I'm not the most learned person you've ever met with a bunch of letters behind my name. I don't know our nation's history inside and out, but I do know one thing... Charlie Kirk was assassinated, murdered, and (I haven't seen anyone say this yet - so I will) he was, in fact, a martyr for his faith. The last person of faith with political connections that I know of to be taken away from us in this absolutely abominable way in the USA was Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968. These men were my brothers. We're in the same family. My brothers and sisters in Christ are being taken out for their beliefs - even today, within my own nation. Now, I know what you're going to say: This was a "political assassination", but to that I have to ask you... In what way can you separate Charlie's faith from the convictions he held? For the things he spoke out about? How can you separate this man's faith from his entire belief system? As an evang...
