Happy 37th Birthday To Me...

I’m 37 today.

Closer to 40 than 30 now, but I think I’m ok with it.

I’ve walked through some things wonderful and some things downright traumatic, but it has all shaped me into who I am today - I’m not ashamed of that person. I’m not everyone’s cup of tea, and I’m ok with that too.

I know I was made for a purpose and that I’m allowing God to mold me into who He desires me to be, and that’s all that really matters. I’m a good wife and mother. I get things wrong, but God knows my heart and helps me make things right again.

It’s a good feeling when you get to the point in life where you realize that what others think of you doesn’t really matter unless you let them. I’m really trying to take the “let them” motto in life to heart. Look it up and see what Mel Robbins says about it. It’s just a good reminder that you can’t control what others do or perceive - you can only control your reaction to them - so let them show their true colors and you just keep being you.

I have some tiger in my parenting and personality, but I know it’s there for a reason. I will do whatever it takes to protect my marriage and children.

Praying for a year that honors God and grows my family more to His standards. His opinion is the only one worth fighting for. The eye of the tiger saying means a lot to me personally and spiritually. It reminds me to be steady and focused on the things of God.

The world would like to distract me and is often successful, but I just reset my eyes upon Him and am reminded that everything’s gonna be alright.
