Movie: Unbelievable

This was so well done. It’s TV-MA on Netflix, so be aware it can get pretty graphic, but it’s a powerful story. I wish I didn’t find it so relatable…

As terrifying as it is to admit to others that you’ve experienced sexual abuse, it’s even harder when people dismiss it or try to convince others you made it up or that it “wasn’t that bad.” I understand why people are afraid to come forward and admit what happened to them. It’s heartbreaking. 💔
Imagine a terrified teen girl having to explain, in detail, over and over to cops, who are adult men, what was done to them. Even worse when they have zero empathy and make you feel like you’re not doing a good enough job explaining it? Do better.
