(Disclaimer: NOT the child's fault in any way, shape, or form!) I don’t say this to make anyone feel bad, but to bring this to people’s attention. Everyone knows someone who has a child with special needs. Everyone. Have you checked in on them in awhile? They could very well NOT be ok. Their children are absolutely loved, but here’s what could be going on under the surface for some of these courageous caregivers… Side note: If you don’t know how to help and would like to, it’s totally ok to be direct and ask someone what it is that would help them breathe a little easier. What would give them a break? What would make them smile? If it’s within your power - go for it! If it’s out of reach, still commit to pray for them. It could be something so small. You never know! They might say bring me a coffee and just sit with me for an hour while the kids watch bluey or maybe take kids to the park so mom can nap. So doable!! It can be lonely out there in the trenches. Let’s not leave anyon...
